  Stayed with friends for my birthday. Lovely accomodation and very friendly owners. We loved the hot tub, pool, log burner and stunning views. Road in is a bit dodgy but wouldn't put me off returning (infact it's already booked :-). SEPT 2015
  
  Have just returned from a second visit to Back Boreland, this time staying in the Steading with 2 children. We loved it again! Kids adored the pool/hot tub and and the log fire. We walked into Gartmore through woods, lovely and great distance for children. Rosie was once again lovely, cottage perfect and we all feel recharged. We'll be back again soon. FEB 2017

  My partner and I spent 3 wonderful nights here, in the smaller (2+2) home, and have no complaints about our stay, which can be hard to say when staying self catered.
  The living, kitchen, dining area was fairly sized and all dishes and pots were to standard, dish washer is small, so no bad environmental conciousness when only filling with dishes for 4 people (or 2 meals for 2).
  Log Fire place is lovely and was nice to have. The cottage was centrally heated, anyway, and set on a timer so it was generally at a perfect temperature. My girlfriend likes it to be warm in the room so at night we just turned up the settings with a couple clicks of the thermostat.
  WiFi was fine for social media and some basic streaming, faster than basic broadband, slower than basic fibre.
  The bathroom was a good size and the shower, jet bath and toilet were all well kept and worked perfectly.
  The Hot Tub was very nice, we were worried about privacy but there is a rota set up and little partitions around it and it's out of the way of the cottages anyway so it was perfect. Brilliant view from there also! The pool is nice for small families max 4/5, I'd say) with a mini "wave machine" and jets with seating also.
  The owners were super friendly and just across the path if you needed anything, so bonus points for that!
  
  As for entry, we arrived in a VW Polo. The tracks up to the building are Land Rover Tracks and the wheel marks are much deeper than the road, I would highly recommend sticking to one side of the road (so that one side's wheels are at the top of the mini hill in the centre of the road) to prevent your undercarriage scraping against the floor!
  
  Mini shop in town(village?) close-by, but you can just stop off at a supermarket in on of the more substantial towns on the way.
  
  Last thoughts: They allow dogs to stay and they give you a bottle of prosecco and some home baking on arrival. Yum!
  
  Highly recommended! Especially for 2!
  
  To the owners: Thanks alot for a great stay! Really went beyond the call of duty :D
